Edinburgh’s Royal Terrace is now home to Paul Kitching’s 21212 which was awarded its first Michelin star not long after it opened its doors on May 2009. This is fairly exciting for Kitching who also gave Manchester’s fine dining restaurant Juniper its Michelin star by working there for 11 years.
The gourmet sample menu is very impressive, even to fine diningexperts. A fusion of ingredients which can be classified as unconventional results in an exciting variety of taste with each bite. The touch of a renowned gourmet chef is also evident in every dish.
This fine dining establishment got its name from its gourmet menu which consists of five courses with 2 starters, 1 soup course, 2 main courses, 1 cheese course and 2 dessert courses. Done with French culinary technique and infused with a modern twist, all the dishes bring the guest a truly unforgettable fine dining experience.
21212 also has an ambiance that is meant to enhance its fine dininggastronomic delights. The restaurant itself has a capacity of 38 and has an open kitchen, drawing room, private dining room and four luxurious bedrooms. All of these brilliantly- decorated rooms are scattered on a four- storey Georgian townhouse.
